Gueret is utterly peaceful with extensive views down the Montriond valley towards Chatel and over Morzine towards the Swiss border.

Behind and to the sides of Chalet Gueret, meadows and forest rise up to the magnificent Alpine wilderness of the Roc d’Enfer. Yet Gueret is on the very edge of the pretty village of Essert Romand and only a few minutes stroll from its ancient church and family run auberge. While not remote, it feels a world away from the bustle and crowds of either Morzine or Les Gets. However, the shops, bars and restaurants of these resorts are only a short drive or taxi ride away. They also boast cinemas and ice rinks, while Morzine has an indoor swimming pool and aquatic centre.

Essert Romand is an easy 75 minutes’ drive from Geneva airport. If you prefer not to drive, we have negotiated a discount with a number of transfer companies which we can recommend. Calais is about 8 hours plus stops.

Access to the chalet is not difficult, but it is up a short hill within the village and although snow ploughing is light years ahead of the UK, nevertheless the roads can, occasionally, become a little tricky. 4x4 are highly recommended.
